About The Role:
We’re looking for a Senior Security Operations Engineer to support our security team in the Cloud Platform division.
What We’re Looking For:
- Facilitator: It’s essential that you can relay information and ideas effectively both within and across different teams. While we place a huge premium on technical skill, we value just as much your ability to work with other people
- Adaptable: Our industry moves fast and we need you to keep up and adapt. Acting as an Operations Engineer, you have the ability to prioritize tasks, often against competing scope and timelines
- Technical: A strong foundation in Operations, and experience in solving complex problems and building solutions (including CI/CD, real-time monitoring, production issues, etc.)
- Rigorous: We design and manage massive, globally distributed systems that handle billions of transactions a day - your approach and solutions need to be thorough, scalable and ironclad.
Here’s What You’ll be Doing:
- Develop strong security controls, implement security best practices as part of the SDLC, highlight and mitigate risks, reduce the blast radius of potential security vulnerabilities.
- Design, build and automate security controls in collaboration with the Cloud Platform team.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to design and develop software and platforms that are secure by design.
- Evangelize and lead the implementation of a private cloud platform security architecture.
- Drive remediation of vulnerabilities and audit the efficacy of implemented security controls.
- Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement when it comes to security gap analysis and remediation.
- Develop and incorporate tooling into the CI/CD pipeline to integrate security into the development process.
- Mentor and lead the development of the next generation of security champions at Index Exchange.
Here's What You Need:
- Experience with container / workload orchestration, private cloud environments.
- Basic scripting skills so you can automate
- Experience with IaC and configuration management tools such as Salt, Ansible, Puppet or Terraform
- Deep understanding of developing security controls in a highly automated and distributed environment.
- Experience working in an environment compliant with data governance regulations such as GDPR, PCI etc.
- Experience performing / leading pentesting and developing secure engineering frameworks.
- Keen understanding of security KPIs in order to leverage resources effectively.
