Index Exchange today announced the appointment of Catherine Patterson as senior vice president, platform and partnerships. Based in New York, Patterson will report to Marybeth McGaugh, chief customer officer, and oversee Index’s DSP and publisher-facing teams.
Patterson brings more than 15 years of experience across the digital advertising ecosystem. She most recently served as general manager of inventory management and operations at The Trade Desk, where she led supply strategy across streaming TV, display, audio, and emerging channels. In that role, she advanced strategic publisher and SSP partnerships and drove initiatives spanning identity, supply path optimization, and marketplace transparency.
Prior to The Trade Desk, Patterson held roles across both the demand and supply sides of the industry at Mindshare, Pandora, and Yahoo, bringing a balanced perspective on how buyers and sellers can work more effectively together.
In her new role, Patterson will lead Index’s platform and partnership strategy, strengthening executive relationships across DSPs, media owners, and agencies. She will be responsible for driving growth, shaping go-to-market priorities, and partnering cross-functionally to align product strategy with evolving customer needs.
“Catherine has spent her career at the intersection of supply, demand, and technology,” said McGaugh. “She understands how to build durable partnerships and translate market intelligence into action. As we continue to focus on creating greater efficiency and transparency across the supply chain, her leadership will help ensure we’re delivering solutions that exceed expectations for both media owners and platforms.”
Patterson added, “Index Exchange plays a critical role in powering a more transparent and efficient advertising marketplace. I’m excited to join a company that is committed to innovation and long-term partnership. Together with our DSP and publisher partners, we have an opportunity to strengthen collaboration, drive meaningful growth, and build on the trusted infrastructure Index has established across the industry.”
Patterson will lead Index’s global platform and publisher partnerships, aligning strategy and execution to accelerate growth and deliver greater value for customers.
